Psst...Have You Heard?

Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Smashwords
I'm thrilled! Got up this morning and Whispers of a Legend, Volume I is up as an ebook on Barnes and Noble. Took over a week. It was my intent for Whispers of a Legend, Volume I to go up first on Barnes and Noble. Sorry. Pubit must have had an issue. But I promised I would put all three under one title, Shadows of the Past, The Path Now Turned and Vision of Destiny and it's here!

Whispers of a Legend, Volume I is also in print. I just can't figure out Create Space as well as I have Pubit and Kindle Direct. Maybe because the ebooks are so easy to download and appear. I believe that Whispers of a Legend, Volume I print is already suppose to be up on Amazon, but for the life of me I can't find it. Shouldn't it pop up with the ebooks? Got to figure out what I'm doing wrong. It must be some button I haven't clicked. But I'll figure it out. Print for Whispers should be up soon on Barnes and Nobles as well. (Just takes a little longer).

Don't forget about the contest here in April - already started. Let's celebrate Whispers all month! I want to thank everyone for their kind words about the series. Appreciate it! This is my thanks to you- a chance to win a copy of Whispers of a Legend, Volume I and a $50 dollar gift certificate to either Barnes and Noble or Amazon! Easy, easy easy to enter...leave a comment either here, over on Jerri Hines blog,  Novel Works, or Facebook page- Carrie James Haynes.

Happy with Dreamscape. Have fans calling for the sequel. Already have it swirling around in my head. Have a couple of things to complete before and time... I need time to write!
Just want to call attention to some of the reviews coming back on Dreamscape...

I just finished reading "Dreamscape (Dream Walker Series)" by Carrie James Haynes, which was an enthralling story of a Dream Walker, a serial killer, sheriff, and FBI profilers. In fact, I started reading it last night and finished in the wee hours this morning! Great story line and well-developed characters. I'll be looking for more books from Ms. Haynes. Highly recommended!

This is such a great read I love the storytelling's, paranormal, murder suspense. Without too much romance to. Cloud the issue love it love it cant wait for the next installment.

Great book.. Suspenseful to the end. Ending is beginning of next book though. Not nice to tease us readers.

DAUGHTER OF DECEIT Then I think of Daughter of Deceit.

I had another author email me

Guess it goes with the territory. Have to admit I wasn't prepared for it. But its a learning experience. I have always wanted feedback, but I guess I thought naively that it would be fair and just. Don't get me wrong I love the really good reviews I've gotten and so appreciate them. But I'm going to be fair... just a couple of lines from some of the bad reviews.

the grammer and vocabulary errors suggest that the book was written by a non-English speaker who relied on machine translation. It just isn't readable.

Worst writing that I have ever read. The grammer is so bad that it makes me wonder if the author is a native speaker of English.

If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny. But it's not funny. I don't have control over this person or  group of people. So at the moment, I'm embracing my destiny as the Best Damn 2 Star Author Ever!

My daddy always said Be the best at whatever you do!

But I can assure you that Daughter of Deceit is an excellent romance book! What I would suggest is reading the excerpt if you're interested in Daughter of Deceit. I promise I didn't use a machine translation. English is my native language although at times my husband thinks I speak a foreign language- Southern.

This person/group of people doesn't want you to pick up the book. But I'm not asking the excerpt. I believe you can quickly see what is going on. I guess I should be flattered that someone has gone through so much trouble for readers not to open my book. But look at the opportunity you have now to be able to read a book from the Best Damn 2 Star Author Ever!

Have a good one!

WHISPERS OF A LEGEND- Available in Print!

Whispers of a Legend, Volume I is now available in print! Do you know how long I have been waiting to say that? At the moment you can find it at Create Space. Soon to be at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. This is the first time that I've used Create Space so I'm not that familiar with the time frame of when everything will become available and when. But I'm an impatient person. The book was available last week, but I held up announcing it because I wanted it on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I just don't know when that will be.

I will be releasing all three books under one title at the same time in ebook format also. I went first to Barnes and Noble. You know I love my guys over there. Unfortunately, I've come across some glitch. Not sure what. It's seems stuck in a processing mode. Hopefully it will be fixed today and I'll get it up. Amazon should be up tomorrow or Tuesday the latest.

So what to do now? CONTEST TIME!

Celebrate Whispers of a Legend, Volume I with me. Volume I includes all the three previously released books. Shadows of the Past, The Path Now Turned and Vision of Destiny under one cover. For the whole month of April follow me for your chance to win a copy of Whispers of a Legend, Volume I. I will also be giving away a $50 dollar gift certificate to your choice of either Barnes and Noble or Amazon.

Easy to enter. Just comment in any forum that I'm associated with...this blog- Castles in the Air, my blog under Jerri Hines, Novel Works, become Carrie James Haynes' friend on Facebook. Comment there...let me know what you think of my books! Good luck!

Have a good one!

Whispers of a Legend, Volume I Release is Set!

April is a big month for my Indies. WHISPERS OF A LEGEND, VOLUME I will be released in print and ebook. WHISPERS OF A LEGEND, VOLUME I holds all three previously released books, SHADOWS OF THE PAST, THE PATH NOW TURNED,  and VISION OF DESTINY.

I'm so excited! I'm having such a wonderful time with this saga. A young woman coming of age! Writing under the New Adult genre, I have made an effort to capture the essence one goes through when one matures as a young woman.

There is no perfection within Whispers. All characters exhibits both strengths and weakness in their character as we all do. Yet it is those flaws that determine who we will become. To live, we must evolve.

Along the way, Kela faces dangers untold. Adventure, action, love, duty....Whispers of the Legend, Volume I tells Kela's journey.  An epic fantasy...a world in the midst of turmoil and crisis.

Taking a few of the reviews off of Barnes and Noble about each installment- remember all the books of Whispers of Legend are completely professionally edited now!

What an emotionally gripping story. I love the protagonist strength. She endures much for the safety of her family and her sense of duty. She is denied her birthright but keeps her brother and sister's needs above her own. Her grandfather seems to have a plan to keep her hidden from the world to harness her power but only alienates her more. I'm thoroughly impressed with this series already. I hope the 3rd installment comes soon!

This book had me from the beginning. I loved the opening chapter. Lends me to anticipate more to with the series. Action, magic and romance. Love it all. Carrie J Haynes sweeps us into their tormented world, getting us to love them and want to protect them. I can't wait for the rest of the series!!!

I read both of the books in this series and I can't wait for book three. The story was so captivating it just pulls you right in. There were a few grammer issues but who cares. These books were amazing and this author is talented!

I really liked the story line in this book. It kept up a good pace and left me wanting more. My only complaint would be the grammatical errors in the books. There were several times when I had to read a line multiple times to interpret it correctly. One thing that struck me all the way through both books was that I could visualize it playing on the big screen. I hope that someone picks up on that and makes a movie out of it or even a TV series. It definitely has the potential to be a good movie!!! There were a couple of romantic scenes in the book that were pretty detailed but as yet it was only the two parts. If that is something that bothers you just be warned. Otherwise, I definitely recommend giving it a read.

Carrie James Haynes has potential to be next well known scifi/fantasy author. Her story contains interesting characters with unusual talents. It is well thought out and although not perfect demonstrates the possibility of some good stories coming in the future. I was interested enough to purchase the next installment of the story.

You can find all three books now on either Barnes and Noble or Amazon. To find them under one cover, Whispers of Legend, Volume I is coming soon!!!

Have a good one!

Shadows of the Past
Whispers of a Legend, Volume I is coming soon! Not only ebook, but print! It won't be long until all three books will be under one cover! For a time, I will keep all three books on line. For anyone that hasn't started the series, it will be cheaper to get the books separately.

Vision of Destiny
Shadows of the Past is FREE! The Path Now Turned and Vision of Destiny are only $.99 each. But if you want just one book or if you want it in print, now you can have it. GX did an awesome job with the cover. Wanted to do something a tad different so everyone would know its not the same as the other three books, but alike because they are connected.

DREAMSCAPE is Released and Free starting Wednesday!

Dreamscape...previously published under the title of Dream Walker...was my first published book. I feel excited about releasing it as an Indie. First it has been edited, reviewed by professionals and above all has been my best selling book prior to my going Indie. Dream Walker spent months in the top ten on Fictionwise under Mainstream Fiction. And it is going to be FREE this week- March 14-18th- starting Wednesday.

"Dream Walker is one of my favorite books that I've read this year... The climax culminates in a stunning display of demons and other worldly beings brought vividly to life by J. Hines to the degree that they are fantastical and believable..."

5 Flutes by Black Orchid, Cocktail Reviews
One of the reviews when it was published as Dream Walker.

I have been so busy as of late getting organized. I'm pushing to get Whispers of a Legend into print. I have the edits back. Just going through them now. Waiting for my cover too. I have to admit I'm nervous about putting a book into print as an Indie. With ebooks if there is a mistake it can be easily corrected. When it goes to print...but this week Shadows of the Past and The Path Now Turned will both have their edited versions published.
Also, I'm excited because one of my publishers, Wild Child, is putting Patriot Secrets into Amazon Select. It's going free next week, March 21-25th. I'm hoping this strategy will work. Patriot Secrets is still with Wild Child. This one should be interesting. Patriot Secrets is not a classic romance novel. It's historical fiction. There is a difference. Yes, there is plenty of romance in the book, but if you're expecting boy meets girl, boy gets girl...I don't want to give anything away, but think John Jakes. If you've read his works, I believe you would enjoy Patriot Secrets. Patriot Secrets is the first in the series Winds of Betrayal. It also centers around a fictious spy network loosely based on Culper Spy ring. I'll let you in on a little secret. It's my mother's favorite book of mine. She's certain it will be a best seller!

Now for Daughter of Deceit. I'm not giving up on it. I love Daughter of Deceit! I'm letting you guys see my new cover today-which I absolutely love. (Calista Taylor did both Dreamscape and the new Daughter of Deceit. GX did Whispers. Each has their own style. Each did an amazing job!) Faith Williams from the Atwater Group did my edits on Whispers and now will begin Daughter of Deceit! Should be finished by the 23rd! So as soon as I can, I will republish Daughter of Deceit as a Second Edition with edits and a new cover. It will go free soon after again. So you won't see this cover again until everything is set with Daughter of Deceit...but it is coming!

Hopefully it will get those meanie reviewers off my case. If its the edits, it should. If its something else...well, we'll see. I don't understand how people can be so callous. Even if for some unknown reason, I hated a book...I could never say those awful personal things. They are personal attacks which Amazon has done absolutely nothing to shield me from. Do I believe that Daughter of Deceit is as bad as some of the reviewers have said? No- of course not. I've had plenty of wonderful reader reviews. Some have even been great! Does it need professional edits? Without question. But so did Whispers of a Legend. As I said before edits can be fixed. Now that Whispers edits are complete, Daughter of Deceit won't be far behind.

My other question to those reviewers that can't seem to let go of my book is why? Why is it so important to keep going after my book? I do respect the fact you have your opinion, but why after a month have you not left me alone? You would think they would leave. They haven't. They're there...waiting to pounce. And I'm not going into details, but a couple of strange things have been happening. Hopefully, they're all a fluke of some sorts and it all goes away.

I have never done a mean thing to anyone in my life. I have no intention of ever doing so. I have always tried to help people. So this...I just don't get it.

I'm just a poor man, trying to make a living and doing the best I can.

That song just popped into my head...I'm sure all will be fine. I'm going to look ahead. Dreamscape this week...Patriot Secrets next...Daughter of Deceit the next...and I'm so excited- not far behind- the print version of Whispers of a Legend, Volume I. How can I not be excited? I'm doing what I love!

Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords

Trained for only one purpose, to protect the innocent from an evil that threatens to destroy her world, Kela has never questioned her destiny. The enemy has never been in doubt and her path laid clear before her. Now all is blurred. Left with only one choice, she escapes from Yucca in search of the one known as Seilda the Tvopac, the Guardian of the Past…but Kela learns quickly the Past holds its own dangers.
Vision of Destiny has been released! It's up on Smashwords. I've had the hardest time getting it up on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, but its up now!

It's released and EDITED! to have it edited. I'm expecting to get back Shadows of the Past and The Path Now Turned any day now from my editor. As soon as I have them, I'm going to pull them under one title for Whispers of a Legend, Volume I and put it into print! Then my attention turns to Daughter of Deceit. Will have a new cover to go along with a complete edit.

So, like everyone that has waited for Vision of Destiny to be released, I too have had to learn patience.

Hope you enjoy it!
